Abdullahi Hafsoh reports,
A 300-level law student of Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto, Habibat Muhammad Sani has done what other students described as 'wonderful and exceptional'. Born in Sokoto and hailing from Abuja, Habiba gets disturbed by anything unhygienic.
In her act of service to humanity, she addressed an issue of the unhygienic situation at the old PG female hostel. With her 'hygienic' mind, Habibat was moved after attending a series of programs such as the renowned youth development program "#Youth Group learning for the Nigerian we want#" organized by the Golden Star Initiative and funded by esteemed institutions such as Leap Africa, Mac Arthur Foundation, Ford Foundation, and the Naija Youth fund. Impacted by the training, Habibat was inspired to take action and improve the living conditions of her fellow students.
After discovering that the majority of the rooms in the old PG hostel lacked the necessary tools for cleaning leading to unsanitary conditions and frequent lending from their colleagues, Habibat purchased a set of brooms and packers and distributed each for each room at the hostel while ensuring they had access to their essential items through her initiative.
And that's not all, she extended her generosity to the hardworking hostel staff by providing them with the necessary tools as well.

In an exclusive interview with Habibat, she lauded the training she attended that led to the gesture while sharing her valuable advice for fellow students.
"Do not always wait for your leaders. If there is any way you can help or solve a problem, go ahead and do it."
This word of encouragement presents Habibat's belief in the power of the individual mind to change and the importance of taking action to make a positive impact.
In addition to her words, she expressed her gratitude to her supporters, the University management such as the Dean of Student Affairs, the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, the Hall Governor, and her organization, Golden Star Initiative.
Through their encouragement, Habibat was able to realize and implement her vision of a cleaner and healthier Old PG Hostel environment.
Management, Students Appreciate Gesture
The management of the University through the Dean of Students' Affairs, Prof. Aliyu Umar acknowledged the work done by Habiba while encouraging her to do more. "I commend your effort. You have demonstrated a commendable attempt."
Dr. Tukur Muhammad Mukhtar, the Deputy Dean of Students' Affairs also applauded the initiative.
"This project holds great promise, and I wholeheartedly give my approval. I shall endeavor to be present in the hostel to witness its execution firsthand."
The Governor of the hostel hall, Fatima Dagbo, a final year student of Islamic Studies, expressed her appreciation towards development and the initiator.
Doing so, she uttered these heartfelt words, 'I commend the initiative shown by a fellow student who recognized the absence of brooms and packers. In order to alleviate the burden of borrowing from her room, she graciously offered her assistance. I wholeheartedly applaud her effort."
In an interview with one of the inhabitants of the hostel Jimoh Sekinat Opeyemi, a 300-level Forestry student, she noted that ''The broom and packer have been instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness of our room, leading to a noticeable improvement in hygiene due to consistent cleaning efforts".
This rare generosity story facilitates the potential for positive change that lies within every student. Muhammad Habibat Sani's passion, initiative, and commitment to service reflect the true essence of leadership and inspire others to create transformative solutions to pressing challenges. Her selfless act serves as a testament to the positive influence students can have on their immediate community and beyond.
