UDUS Set to Hold 31st Inaugural Lecture

The Management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University under the leadership of Prof Lawal Suleiman Bilbis is set to hold its' 31st Inaugural Lecture on the 13th of July, 2023 at the University Auditorium Main Campus by 4 pm.
This information is contained in a flyer released to the public by the University, pasted across notice boards, and obtained by Vanguard Press early this week.
The statement of the invitation flyer reads: "On behalf of the Council, Senate, Staff, and Students, Prof. L. S Bilbis, the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto welcomes the general public to the 31st inaugural lecture."
According to the flier, the Inaugural Lecture titled 'How Variants Of Political Banditry Have Impacted Adversely On The Development And Consolidation Of Democracy In Nigeria' is the thirty-first of its kind since the establishment of the University in 1975.
Meanwhile, the inaugural lecturer is Professor Nuhu Omeiza Yaqub, a former lecturer at the Department of Political Science. Before he retired from the services of the University on 7th March 2021 reaching the age of 70, he was once a Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UDUS and later, Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja) from 2004 to 2009, and the Sokoto State University as its pioneer Vice Chancellor from 2013 to 2017.
