EFCC-ZTC UDUS Appoints VP as Acting President For Three Weeks

Red Eagle (R. E.) Ishaq Abdulyazeed Musa, a 500-level student from the Faculty of Agriculture at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, has been appointed as the Acting President of the Economic and Finance Crime Commission (EFCC) and the Zero Tolerance for Corruption (ZTC) Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Club, Vanguard Press can report. 

According to the notice of appointment signed by R. E. Ghazali Ibrahim A., the Secretary General of the club, on Friday, September 1, 2023, the appointment takes effect on September 4, 2023, and it was a necessity due to the absence of the club executive president, R. E. Shehu Munir Waziri, who is on an official trip.

In an interview with R.E. Ishaq Musa, who is also the vice president of the club, he said that the appointment was a rare chance to lead anti-corruption fighters on the whole campus, pledging to serve with justice.


"It's an honor and a privilege to serve as the number one student of the anti-corruption organization on campus in this capacity. I will discharge my duties to the best of my ability with no fear or favor and following the EFCC-ZTC's Constitution," he said. 

Vanguard Press learned that his appointment was in line with the mandate of the administration for effective leadership in the absence of the president and was by Section 18(2)(a) of the ZTC-adopted constitution.

"During your tenure as Acting President, your primary responsibility must be to oversee all operations and activities of the EFCC-ZTC, with a specific focus on ensuring the completion of ongoing investigations of cases with the investigation panel, with the recent case of alleged mismanagement by some of the suspended SU officials as a priority and to be completed before the expiration of 3 weeks or report progress afterward," the notice of appointment reads.
