State Associations' Representatives Speak
In an interview with Vanguard Press, Adeyeye Mubaraq Adebowale, the sport director of the
Federation Of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU), mentioned that the executives are ready for the tournament.
When asked of the steps taken and measure put in place by the association so far, he replied "Concerning the incoming inter-state competition, we are working on how to get our form and how to get our players ready".
"As you all know, every session we are always ready for the challenge," he added.
In his case, Lawal Abdulrasheed, the Sport Representative of Edo state association, is of the opinion that the registration fee is high.
"8,000 of 16 teams is about 128,000. No tangible awards to be given, so what is the registration fee for?," he asked.
"The organisers should try and get quality medals with the school's logo on it, this time,"he advised.
Also, he urged the organisers to inform various Faculty Heads about the tournament to avoid clashes with lectures as this is one of the problems players faced in the past.
Adeshina Faruq, the captain of National Association of Kwara State Students(NAKSS) believed that this year is going to be a good year for them. "We are going for the best players so as to win this tournament," he stated.
When asked how prepared they were, he said: "We have been preparing since last semester and we are fully prepared, we are going for the trophy".
