UDUS sets to Hold 35th Inaugural Lecture

The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto under the leadership of Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis had extended an invitation to all members of the University community and the public to attend the 35th Inaugural Lecture of the University scheduled to be held on Thursday 7th of September, 2023 at the University Auditorium Main Campus by 4:30 pm.

This information is contained in a flyer released to the public by the University, shared across media outlets, and obtained by Vanguard Press Board.

Part of the invitation flyer reads: "On behalf of the Council, Senate, Staff, and Students, Prof. L. S Bilbis, the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto cordially invites the general public to the 35th Inaugural Lecture."

The Inaugural Lecture titled 'Vegan's Night: Ubiquity of Animal Products' will be delivered by an erudite professor from the Faculty of Agriculture, Professor Mu'awiya Jibir. 

Meanwhile, Prof. Jibir who holds a bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Ahmadu Bello University, and a master's and doctorate holder in Animal Science from the University of Ibadan and Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto respectively is the Inaugural Lecturer. Vanguard Press learned that the event will be live-streamed by the University via the appropriate social media platform.

Inside UDUS: NUASA-UDUS Sets To Hold Congress Meeting

  Sewedo Khadijat reports In a bid to ensure and improve the harmonious relationship among various levels, the Nigerian Universities Accounting Students' Association (NUASA), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Chapter is set to hold congress meetings across all levels of Accounting Students. This information which was obtained by Vanguard Press is contained in a flier, released by the President of the Association,  Akintomiwa Isaac, and shared to many social media accounts. According to the flier, debate, quiz, talk show, miming competition poem recitation and cultural display are the events to be featured on that day.   Abdulraheem Muhammed Olarewaju reports,  In a commendable endeavor to bolster journalistic integrity and sharpen the skills of aspiring journalists, the National Association of Campus Journalists, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Chapter, had on Sunday 1st of October, 2023 convened its first congress of the semester, placing a strong focus on editorial training.  Spearheaded by Abdulrasheed Hammed, a seasoned and award-winning investigative journalist, the training delved into the core ethics of journalism, underscoring the paramount importance of maintaining truthfulness and transparency.
