EFCC-ZTC Oratory Competition: Faculty of Law Emerges Winner

In a remarkable event held on Sunday, October 23rd, the ZTC EFCC hosted an inter-faculty oratory competition. The distinguished panel of judges included Rotaractor Hussain Abdulbasit (Penguin), R.E Sadiya, and R.E Shehu Muneer Wazeer. Nine faculties passionately participated in the competition such as Law, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Chemical and Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies, and Faculty of Science and Faculty of Education and extension services.
The Faculty of Law emerged as the Winner, with Olarenwaju Umar Faruq representing them. The first runner-up spot was claimed by Ibrahim Ismail from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, while Faruq Olaoti from the Faculty of Social Sciences secured the second runner-up position. Notably, the title of "Best Speaker" was awarded to Innocent Peter Ofime from the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Olarenwaju Umar Faruq, the winner and the representative from the Faculty of Law, expressed his elation, stating, "I felt like history was made. It's been a while since the Faculty of Law emerged as winners in an inter-faculty competition, so, of course, I am glad we could make it."
Ibrahim Ismail, the first runner-up, commended the EFCC-ZTC for their commendable initiative, emphasizing the importance of addressing corruption in Nigeria. He stated, "The EFCC-ZTC's work is commendable, addressing the critical issue of corruption in Nigeria. University students are the future leaders, and their creative solutions are a significant step forward.
Regarding the oratory contest, it was fair, and I attended to share and learn. I emerged as the 1st runner-up, but I believe I was the best candidate based on the results. In the faculty of veterinary medicine, we uphold a winning mentality."
In an interview with Vanguard Press, the second runner-up, Faruq Olaoti, highlighted the value of extracurricular activities and commended the ZTC for their excellent initiative.
In response to the event, the Best Speaker, Innocent Peter Ofime mentioned that it was notified of the event late, lauding the organizers for their efforts.
The President of the Law Students Association expressed his joy, saying, "I feel delighted about the outcome of the competition, I was not surprised that we won, It's indeed a great achievement, not only for the participants but for the faculty at large. We are proud of our candidate and grateful to the EFCC- ZTC club for organizing such a wonderful competition."
In an interview with the President of EFCC-ZTC, he stated that "the Inter-Faculty Oratory Contest addressed the global issue of corruption. We emphasized transparency, accountability, and integrity, sharing ideas and inspiring action."
