ELSSA-UDUS To Launch First Magazine

In its commitment to expanding Students' horizons, the English and Literary Studies Students' Association, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Chapter, has extended an invitation to the university community to attend its magazine launch scheduled to be held on 15th of November, 2023 at the School Auditorium, UDUS.
This information obtained by Vanguard Press Board was contained in a flyer, released to the public by the Association, and shared across various media platforms.
According to the flyer, the magazine launch titled "Literary Scope" will be hosted by Dr. Atiku Abubakar, Head of the Department of English and Literary Studies, and Dr. Balkisu Kigo, the association's Staff Adviser.
Meanwhile, the magazine launch which has Prof. Shehu Sidi Ibrahim, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts as the Co-Host will have in attendance Prof. Umar Aliyu, Dean of Students Affairs, and Prof. A. A. Salawu from the Faculty of Education and Extension Services as the Guest of Honour.
The Vice Chancellor of UDUS, Prof. L. S. Bilbis is the Chief Host of the magazine launch while the Guest Launcher is Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan-Umar, Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Birnin-Kebbi.
Expressing his excitement, Ibrahim Mubarak, the association's President disclosed the innovative moves that will be birthed from the publication.
"One of the notable achievements of the ELSSA 2022/2023 Executives in the Department of English and Literary Studies, UDUS, is the magazine's publication," Mubarak revealed.
He reiterated the association's commitment to involving members in academic activities such as debates, quiz, poetry, and writing competitions.
"We discovered that our Lecturers were writing, but never in a collection as a team," Mubarak confessed while speaking on what led to the initiative.
"It didn't seem possible to start at first," Mubarak added while appreciating the dedication, patience, support, and help from Committee Members, Lecturers, and Exco's.
"The fact that Literary Scope is published attests to the DELS's ability to draw bright, diligent, and dedicated graduate students. History will speak for itself," he concluded.
