Members of Vanguard Press UDUS and Students From University Of Nigeria, Nsukka Begins A 3-Day Virtual Training On Solutions Journalism

Members of Vanguard Press Board UDUS have been trained on the meaning, pillars and importance of solutions journalism.
The trainer, Violet Ikong, a freelance solutions journalist trained the participants on what solutions journalism also known as SOJO entails, its area of coverage and the importance of writing solutions stories to the society.
According to her, " Solutions journalism is a careful journalistic effort in response to social problems, with emphasis on what worked, what does not as well as the limitations therein using insights while supplying relatable evidences".
The enlightened participants expressed their gratitude to the organiser and trainer at the end of the first day's training for the timely initiative and promised to inform more interested writers and budding journalists to join in the remaining days of the training.

Mr Ekpali Saint, a freelance journalist who facilitated the session then announced "understanding the pillars of Solutions Journalism" as the topic for the second day of the training and that Seun Durojaye, the founder of Prime Progress will be the trainer of the session.
The training which was organised by Prime Progress begins today, Monday 24, October, 2022 and would last for three days.
