Editorial Update: An Explainer of Some Misconceptions in Our Article Titled "Sachet Water: The Thirst Quencher But Now A Health Breaker
First and foremost, we would like to call the attention of the public to the fact that water is life and life is water. This assertion is not only propounded by scientists but confirmed and substantiated by religious scriptures. Due to the importance of water in the life and health of a human being, the article in question was written to draw the attention of the students of UDUS to be conscious of the water they consume for the sake of their health.
Meanwhile, it is a fact that there have been studies elsewhere and on the internet by different researchers that show that waters including sachet ones produced and consumed by people are not safe for their health. This spirit and impression led to the publishing of the article having its credence to the findings of such research and tests. In fact, some samples of pure water gotten from Yaro boys hawking around the university environment were individually put to the test by our writer as a laboratory student in the course of his research.
To set the record right, a claim was erroneously made to the source of the samples of sachet water used for the test by the reporter to have been from UDUS SU Shops by the article in the discussion. This is the first misrepresentation and the claim was unconsciously made by the reporter and the editorial team of the board. Another area of misconception as conceived by the public is one of the pictures used in the illustration of the article. The picture pointed using a red arrow showing worms in the sachet water was only used to illustrate some dangers contained by unsafe water. It wasn't a sample collected from any shop situated in the University community.
Known as the Paragon of Excellence and with integrity in its operation, Vanguard Press Board is ever committed to quality, accurate, and excellent reporting. While we bring accurate information to the university community at large, it is our standing ethics and principle to avoid misinformation and misrepresentation of facts. Thanks.
