UDUS to Hold 32nd Inaugural Lecture July 27th

The Management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, under the Vice-Chancellor-ship of Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, is set to hold its 32nd Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the University Auditorium, Main Campus. Vanguard Press observed that the Inaugural Lecture of the Institution usually takes place by 4 pm. 

This information was contained in a flyer released to the public by the University, posted on notice boards, and obtained by Vanguard Press lately today.

The statement on the invitation flyer reads, "On behalf of the Council, Senate, Staff, and Students, Prof. L. S. Bilbis, the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, welcomes the general public to the 32nd inaugural lecture."

According to the flyer, the Inaugural Lecture is titled "Natural Products Chemistry: A Blessed Daughter of Organic Chemistry" and marks the thirty-second lecture of its kind since the establishment of the University in 1975.

The inaugural lecturer for this event is Professor L.G. Hassan, a lecturer at the Department of Energy and Applied Chemistry and the Department of Pure and Environmental Chemistry. He has the following credentials to his credit: MRSC, MACS, MCSN, and FICCON. His research interest lies in Natural Products Chemistry and Food.

Inside UDUS: NUASA-UDUS Sets To Hold Congress Meeting

  Sewedo Khadijat reports In a bid to ensure and improve the harmonious relationship among various levels, the Nigerian Universities Accounting Students' Association (NUASA), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Chapter is set to hold congress meetings across all levels of Accounting Students. This information which was obtained by Vanguard Press is contained in a flier, released by the President of the Association,  Akintomiwa Isaac, and shared to many social media accounts. According to the flier, debate, quiz, talk show, miming competition poem recitation and cultural display are the events to be featured on that day.   Abdulraheem Muhammed Olarewaju reports,  In a commendable endeavor to bolster journalistic integrity and sharpen the skills of aspiring journalists, the National Association of Campus Journalists, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Chapter, had on Sunday 1st of October, 2023 convened its first congress of the semester, placing a strong focus on editorial training.  Spearheaded by Abdulrasheed Hammed, a seasoned and award-winning investigative journalist, the training delved into the core ethics of journalism, underscoring the paramount importance of maintaining truthfulness and transparency.
