Danfodiyo Varsity Prepares to Hold 36th Inaugural Lecture

The Management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Under the Leadership of Professor L. S. Bilbis has presented an invitation to the University Community and General Public for the 36th Inaugural Lecture scheduled to be held on Thursday 28th of September, 2023 at the University Auditorium Main Campus by 4:30 pm.

This information is contained in a flyer released to the public by the University, shared across media outlets, and obtained by Vanguard Press Board.

Part of the flyer reads: "On behalf of the Council, Senate, Staff, and Students, Prof. L. S Bilbis, the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto cordially invites the general public to the 36th Inaugural Lecture."

Prof. Haruna Abdullahi Birniwa from the Department of Nigerian Languages, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, will deliver the Inaugural Lecture titled 'Hausa Political Verse As A Catalyst To Politicking In Hausaphone Nigeria'.

Meanwhile, Prof. Haruna Abdullahi Sanusi whose lecture will be live-streamed by the University via various media platforms holds a bachelor's degree in Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, a master's degree in African Language from the University of London, and a doctorate in Hausa from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

  Sewedo Khadijat reports In a bid to ensure and improve the harmonious relationship among various levels, the Nigerian Universities Accounting Students' Association (NUASA), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Chapter is set to hold congress meetings across all levels of Accounting Students. This information which was obtained by Vanguard Press is contained in a flier, released by the President of the Association,  Akintomiwa Isaac, and shared to many social media accounts. According to the flier, debate, quiz, talk show, miming competition poem recitation and cultural display are the events to be featured on that day.   Abdulraheem Muhammed Olarewaju reports,  In a commendable endeavor to bolster journalistic integrity and sharpen the skills of aspiring journalists, the National Association of Campus Journalists, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Chapter, had on Sunday 1st of October, 2023 convened its first congress of the semester, placing a strong focus on editorial training.  Spearheaded by Abdulrasheed Hammed, a seasoned and award-winning investigative journalist, the training delved into the core ethics of journalism, underscoring the paramount importance of maintaining truthfulness and transparency.
