   Muhammad Habibat Sani (UmmuYasmeen) In a remarkable event held on Sunday, October 23rd, the ZTC EFCC hosted an inter-faculty oratory competition. The distinguished panel of judges included Rotaractor Hussain Abdulbasit (Penguin), R.E Sadiya, and R.E Shehu Muneer Wazeer. Nine faculties passionately participated in the competition such as Law, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Chemical and Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences,  Agriculture, Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies, and Faculty of Science and Faculty of Education and extension services. The Faculty of Law emerged as the Winner, with Olarenwaju Umar Faruq representing them. The first runner-up spot was claimed by Ibrahim Ismail from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, while Faruq Olaoti from the Faculty of Social Sciences secured the second runner-up position.   Usama Abubakar reports, The Anti-AIDS Club, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, hosted a remarkable event on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the IBB Friendly Center, UDUS Main Campus. The occasion, graced by esteemed guests and students, marked the unveiling of a renovated signboard and a captivating public lecture on "Negotiating Skills." The public lecture, which focused on the power of negotiating skills in anti-AIDS advocacy, was delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Omar, Director of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Clinic, through his representatives, Dr. Adamu Abubakar and Mal. However, there are some debates about which of these fields is most prestigious. Some argue that journalism is the most prestigious, due to its vital role in providing information and holding those in power accountable. Others may argue that public relations or broadcast are more prestigious, due to their focus on influencing public opinion and providing entertainment. In this critique, I will argue that journalism is the most prestigious field, due to its unique ability to inform and shape public opinion.   Abdullateef Bala Usman In a university lecture hall, a seemingly straightforward question sparked a passionate debate: "Is wine or beer alcoholic?" The question which was originally posed during a food Microbiology class, quickly escalated into a complex and spirited discussion. At the outset, the lecture progressed smoothly. But things took a dramatic turn when the lecturer brought up examples of alcoholic and non-alcoholic foods. This led to a pivotal moment when a curious student asked if wine was alcoholic. The classroom was suddenly alive with animated chatter and debate. It turned into a stage for opposing viewpoints. On one side were those arguing that both wine and beer were prohibited in Islam. On the other side were students advocating for the permissibility of one over the other.   Sherifat Abdullahi reports, The National Association of Campus Journalists (NACJ) Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto hosted its Campus Journalist Congress (CJC) and the induction of mass communication students on Sunday 22nd October 2023.  The congress which was held in the A134 FAIS hall building started at 11:00 am with an opening prayer from an opening prayer by a member of the association and remarks by the president followed.  The reading of the last minute was skipped due to the time factor and a motion was passed to support it. The purpose of this meeting was for the association to continue its campus journalists' congress and induct students from the Mass Communication Department into the association.
